This unlucky cyclist was pictured negotiating Bishop's Road near the Peterborough's regional pool.
He might have been better off going for a swim as an oncoming car threw up a huge wave of water during Thursday's sudden downpour.

The intrepid rider was engulfed by the water but managed to stay upright, despite the soaking, as our amazing sequence of pictures shows.

It is a pity the number plate cannot be read so that the so called careful motorist could then be done for endagering a persons life by reckles driving.
I had just come out of the baths when the down pour was on and cars parked in the disabled bays had a two feet ora of mist on there roofs it was raining so hard.
Perhaps the Editor can make the number plate readable by making the picture larger.

I wish they would make it law to wear a cycle helmet.

Oh give over !!
There are far more people bumping their heads than cyclists. Shall we legislate to force pedestrians to wear bump hats ?

Whatever freedoms to people want to take from us next ?

Clue : Freedom of choice.

It was me in the picture, I was going through the water when the car appeared, he speeded up to either go through the water, or give me a good soaking. I don't know how i managed to stay on my bike as the amount of water that went over me was very forceful. I wasn't bothered about the soaking I was bothered about getting knocked off my bike though. I do normally wear a cycle helmet, but not when I need to. We live and learn.
