A PUPIL with an eye for fashion is hoping to give Dolce and Gabbana a run for its money after winning a design competition.
Along with dozens of other hopefuls, Eleanor Stanton, a pupil at Arthur Mellows Village College, entered a fashion challenge competition for textile pupils in Cambridgeshire. The 15-year-old designed a vintage dress to achieve the '40s look she was after.Eleanor said: "We all entered the competition as part of our textiles homework. I have quite an interest in textiles so I was quite keen, but didn't put too much time into my design."I would like to make fairtrade clothes in the future."When I found out I had won I was speechless but really pleased."The budding designer won £100, which she is going to be donating to charity and her dress was made, and displayed at Isle College in Wisbech.Eleanor was hoping to go to Isle College once she finished school where she hoped to go on and become a fashion designer.Teacher at the school in Glinton, Billy Zaidi said: "Eleanor is a very modest pupil and did really well to win this competition."
