Making her first appearance at Burghley will be glamour model, mother, author and businesswoman Katie Price, aka Jordan.
She has chosen this year's Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials to launch her new line, KP Equestrian.

The range includes polo shirts, tracksuits and blankets for horses, all marked with crowns, hearts and diamante.

Katie decided launch her own riding brand after becoming disheartened with the current selection of clothes on offer for riders.

She told The ET: "I've been riding since I was seven and I've got six horses and I've just started doing dressage. I'm a girly girl and I love my pink and there's nothing out there for horses and riders that's girly.

"It's all so dull and boring." Katie, married to singer Peter Andre, has never been to Burghley before.

"I can't wait. Apparently they've really gone to town with all the balloons and cardboard cutouts," she said.

Even before the launch, Katie's new range, which is being sold through the UK's biggest equestrian retailer, Derby House, is doing exceptionally well.

"They've sold 350,000 items in one week, and they said they've never heard of that before. We didn't think there would be this much response – obviously people love it," she said.

Katie will be hoping for a warmer response at Burghley than she got at the Cartier Polo International, where she was banned from entering the Chinawhite hospitality tent.

Clearly this humiliation still rankles. She has written in The Times about the snub, branding it "pure snobbery".

"I was going along purely to watch the polo and have a nice day out with my family," she told The ET.

Katie will be doing signings at the Horse and Hound stand at Burghley on Friday (5 September) at 3pm and Saturday at 12.30pm.
