Celebrity guests who entertained and amused the crowds helped ensure the success of Truckfest.
Shaun Williamson - better known as Barry from Eastenders - and X Factor star Chico made their appearance on Bank Holiday Monday.

Earlier Jack P Shepherd - David Platt of Coronation Street - and Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham of Boyzone were at the event.

Glorious sunshine brought more than 100,000 visitors to the biggest ever Truckfest at the East Of England Showground, in Alwalton, near Peterborough, where trucks and lorries of all shapes and sizes were on show.

On Monday visitors were also treated to a motorcycle stunt display, along with monster trucks and other competitions and displays.

And in the afternoon people got the opportunity to meet Shaun, who signed autographs and shook hands with hundreds of people while Chico performed in main arena.

The climax of the event was the presentation of the awards for the competition winners.

The festival had attracted a record 1,500 entries into the numerous competitions, including best light commercial vehicle, best custom and paintwork vehicle, and best classic or vintage truck.

Meanwhile, the identity of the man who died in his truck on Sunday morning has still not been released.

As The Evening Telegraph reported yesterday (Monday), the man, believed to be 58 years old and from outside the area, was discovered on the floor of his lorry just after 8.30am on Sunday.

Ambulance crews rushed to the scene to try and revive him, but he was pronounced dead at Peterborough District Hospital.

A police spokesman said that there were no suspicious circumstances to the death, and the case has been handed over to the coroner.
