A TALENTED Peterborough dancer is fearful that her dream of a career on the stage may today be in tatters.
Miss Goor (21) was overjoyed to be accepted onto a coveted MA in performance arts course until she discovered it would cost £6,000 a year.

Miss Goor, who began dancing at the age of 14 and has performed at the Key Theatre and the Broadway Theatre through Peterborough Regional College and Fit to Dance, said: "This course is something that I have dreamt of but unfortunately may not be able to take part in due to a lack of financial support.

"She is hoping to start the Master of the Arts in Performance course after successfully completing a first degree at the  Laban Contemporary Dance School in Greenwich, London.

She said: "I am looking for anyone who would like to sponsor me or help fund me. "The course costs more that £6,000 a year and it is full-time. I have a part-time job at a publishing firm but can only earn a little money as I am limited to the number of hours I can do."

She added: "I worked extremely hard and managed to get into the degree programme.
"I have had an amazing three years of training there and have danced for many renowned choreographers. I even was awarded a scholarship to attend a dance school in New York for a summer."

Miss Goor, originally from Yaxley, currently splits her time between her home in Stanground and dance school in London and says her ideal job would be to join a major dance company and hopes the course will enable her to fulfil her dream.

Known as a technical dancer she has mainly performed in a contemporary and lyrical ballet style.

She has already had a taste of the big-time having performed at international competitions in London and Barcelona and performed as a soloist within restagings of famous works.

She said: "Getting any help, no matter how big or small would mean the world to me."

Any person, or a company, that may be able to help Becca or would like to sponsor her can contact her at beccagoor@hotmail.com
