A peek into the lives of some of the great and the good in Peterborough, and the music, films and books that have captured their imaginations.
We talk to Clifton Stewart, manager of the Space4 Gallery at Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery, about the things that get his cogs whirring and his chance encounter with Amy Winehouse.

At the Peterborough Festival this year, Clifton will once again stage the Space4 Shorts Film Festival at the Key Theatre, one of the highlights of last year's event.

This year, film fans can look forward to more than 40 films featuring everything from Manga robots from Japan to a gothic horror from Ireland.

As a writer, Clifton has written a number of short films and has worked on dozens of projects, including the BBC's Doctors series. His short film, Moth, was staged at the Cannes Film Festival.

As a photographer, Clifton's work has been selected for a prestigious national touring exhibition, along with other artists from around the world.

Is there a TV programme you couldn't live without?

At the moment I am pretty much addicted to South Park. I missed a few series so I'm playing catch-up.

Do you remember the first record you bought – what was it, and where did you buy it?

Well . . . Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett – so you see even then I had eclectic taste, or more likely no taste all.

Is there a film star, pop star or artist you admire? And why...

There is a photographer I admire a lot called Edward Burtynsky. He photographs epic industrial landscapes, often scarred or altered but the beauty is….little or no Photoshop!

Tell us about a recent discovery...something you've seen or heard recently that you would recommend.

A Korean movie by Chan Wook-Park called I'm An Android But That's OK, a completely bonkers but brilliant film about a girl who thinks she's an android . . . maybe she is?

Tell us about any guilty pleasures lurking in your CD or film collections – something you know is a bit naff but you can't help yourself.

WelI I like the B52s and any DVD with a good peckish Zombie in it!

Do you have a favourite film?

I will cop out here and say there are way too many to choose a top one. I do really like a short film called Binta and the Great Idea, I screened it at our shorts film festival, and then last year it was Oscar-nominated, so more people than me must like it.

And how about a favourite album.

At the moment, Neko Case – The Tigers Have Spoken, because I was lucky enough to see her perform and got a signed CD. Yay!

Is there a song or individual piece of music you always come back to?

A track by Talk Talk called John Cope. I just think it is a bit different. I have no idea what it is about but it is one of those tracks I haven't got tired of.

Tell me about a live music experience that sticks in your memory...

I was asked to film an event a couple of years ago and I was stood by the side of the stage waiting for the next act to come on.
