ENIGMATIC comic entertainer Freddie Starr is celebrating his 50 years in the business with a tour of the UK.
He will be visiting The Broadway Theatre in Peterborough on Sunday, 12 October.

This year has been very busy for Freddie, who was given a special award from the Variety Club of Great Britain to mark his half century in entertainment.

Hailing from wartime Liverpool and born Frederick Fowell, he initially carved out a career in music fronting the band The Midnighters, where he played at the famous Cavern Club with the likes of The Beatles (he became friends with John Lennon and stayed with him in Germany) and PJ Proby. Then in 1970 he shot to fame after appearing on the Royal Variety Show and subsequently had his own shows, Freddie Starr's Variety Madhouse and The Freddie Starr Show.

He has also starred on the massively popular and high rated shows This Is Your Life and three An Audience With . . . shows.

Tickets for the show cost £18.50 and £17 (concessions), and can be booked from the Broadway Theatre Box Office on 01733 316100.
