A CULTURAL extravaganza, organised by Art Islam, will take place at Peterborough Museum this weekend (4/5 October).
Visitors to the museum will be able to watch nationally renowned Qawalli (traditional form of Islamic song) musicians, calligraphers, storytellers and much more. In addition, there will be arts and crafts stalls and food to sample to get a real taste of Eastern culture.

Art Islam is a secular organisation designed to highlight, develop and exhibit Islamic art and culture.

Museum visitor services and marketing manager for the city council Stuart Orme said: "We're delighted to be hosting this event, kindly organised by Art Islam and Muddy promotions. It will provide an excellent and fun introduction to Islamic culture."

The event will run on Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and on Sunday from noon to 4pm.

For more details, call the museum on 01733 343329.
