Peterborough's Bridge fair was officially opened last night (Tuesday) following an annual ceremony and procession.
Mayor of Peterborough Cllr Pat Nash led the procession from the town hall to the Embankment at 6pm, before embarking on the ever-popular bumper cars with council chief executive, Gillian Beasley.
Cllr Nash then headed back for the annual sausage supper at the town hall.
The supper raises money for the mayor's chosen charities – Hospital at Home, St John Ambulance and Sue Ryder Care's Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.

As reported in the Evening Telegraph last week, city families are getting twice the opportunity to enjoy the fun of the fair this year, after a longer running schedule was announced.
The fair, which usually lasts for just under a week, started on Tuesday, October 2, and will finish this Sunday.
Fairground fun will be taking place on The Embankment from 6pm until 10.30pm every night, and from 2pm until 10pm at the weekend.
