The Peterborough Festival kicks off in Central Park tomorrow (Saturday), raising the curtain on eight days of live music, film, activities and entertainment, promising a packed programme of events and activities for people of every age.
Based on the theme of Summer Fantasy, festivalgoers can expect the most diverse range of things to do the festival has yet seen.

Festival organiser Joe Ballard said the response to this year's programme has already been overwhelming, with many city residents commenting on the breadth of events.

"With more than 80 events over the eight days, I couldn't possibly pick a favourite," he said.

"But I'm inspired by all the efforts from the community and voluntary groups, and the younger people's initiatives, such as the youth stage, the Impro Show and the Peterborough Young Singers Concert.

"Hydromania! has me bursting with excitement every time I talk about it, and the Rocky Horror events –what can I say? They have me full of antici . . . pation!"
