AN explosive line-up of some of the world's most hardcore metal bands will be shaking the foundations of The Cresset tonight (November 14th).
The Bretton venue has secured its place on the action-packed Altamont "Never Say Die" Tour 2008 – which began in Berlin in early November and takes in Holland, France as well as Manchester and London in the UK.

Leading the concert will be the Aust
ralian metalcore band Parkway Drive, from Byron Bay, New South Wales.

Famed for their high-energy performances, the band is a regular on the European tour circuit.

Joining the tour as co-headliners is Unearth – from Massachusetts, USA – who are due to release their new album on Metal Blade Records at the time of the concert.

Also on the bill is death metal rockers Despised Icon, from Canada, British metalcore band Architects, who are expected to bring a little chaos to the proceedings, Protest The Hero and two US acts, Whitechapel and Carnifex – who will both have new records to air on the tour.

The concert, which is sponsored by clothing company Altamont Apparel and staged by Avocado Booking, promises to bring a new live music experience to Peterborough.

Ivonne Davies-Kreye, of Avocado, said: "We've worked very hard to raise the bar for this tour. It is easily the best line-up and will prove to be the best concert- going experience of 2008."

Fans who fancy a heavy night of music should head to The Cresset for 5pm. The show will begin at 6pm and the first act will hit the stage at 6.20pm.

Tickets cost £14 in advance, or £17 on the door. Under-14s will only be permitted entry if accompanied by an adult.

For more details and to book tickets, call The Cresset box office on 01733 265705.
