Debbie said: "I didn't know I had been nominated until Thursday so it has all come as quite a shock.

"I feel really proud that someone has nominated me. We all work as a team at the school so I will be taking the trophy back to share with the school.

"I am quite speechless, which could be a first for me."

Debbie was described by a parent as a rock who is always coming up with ideas and solutions to help Thomas overcome the challenges of school life.
