Callum has excelled within all of the core sports at Deacon's School in Queen's Gardens, Peterborough, including, rugby, cricket and hockey.

His hard work has resulted in an offer of a scholarship to Oakham School this September – one of the top sporting institutions in the independent school sector.

Sadly Callum is away in Jersey playing cricket.

The teenager's mum, Julia French accepted the award on his behalf.

Mrs French (41) said: "We are so proud of Callum and all that he has achieved.

"He will be delighted to hear that he has won the award."

Daniel Fielding from Marshfields School and Georgia Evans from Jack Hunt School were highly commended in the judges' comments.
