Advertise on our Web site

Advertising online offers an additional cost-effective method of targeting potential customers and creating valuable brand awareness for your business.

PeterboroughToday.co.uk has over 158,860 unique visitors looking at 1,543,460 pages (average Jan-Apr 2009). ((source Webtrends 8)

The majority of online advertising options work on a cost-per-thousand structure or CPM basis.

You can book ad impressions in the form of banners, skyscrapers or MPUs across our network, however many impressions you book will be shown across our network, managed using DART software (owned by Google).

You can receive a click-through rate report to give an indication of the response to your campaign. Click-through rates offer a direct response measurement, but in the age of interactivity, the click-through rate is not the sole measure.

"Click-through rate (CTR) is the number of clicks your ad receives divided by the number of times your ad is shown (impressions) via Google search only. Your ad and keyword each have their own CTRs, unique to your own campaign performance." Source: Google AdWords

Advertisers need to build a relationship with their brand and customers through awareness.

Typically across PeterboroughToday.co.uk or our Jobs Today, Property Today, Local Pages Today or Motors Today sites you will book a minimum of 10,000 ad impressions over a month as PeterboroughToday.co.uk alone has well over 1 million pages viewed every month.

Targeting your campaign is important, it is all about reducing wastage, pinpointing your target audience to maximise brand awareness and sales message.

Main types of advert available

Banner/leaderboard:

A Banner advertisement appears in a prime position at the top the page maximising the presence of your business.

Leaderboards appear in the same position as the banner at the top of the page and measure more than twice the area of a banner, giving twice the advertising space without twice the cost.

Being one of the first items seen on a page they immediately attract attention and offer a cost effective way of driving extra visits through your website, with a direct link from the banner advertisement. They especially benefit from a strong creative and call for action.

Banners cost £12 per thousand ad impressions (CPM) across the site (reach) or £13 if targeted.

Leaderboards cost £15 per thousand for reach or £17 for targeted

Skyscraper:

A Skyscraper advertisement appears on the right hand side of every page and its position and length ensure that it is the most dominant advert on the page.

A larger area provides space to include more information than a banner.

A Skyscraper can be static or animated, with up to four frames of animation. By dominating the page a Skyscraper is an excellent way to promote a number of products plus providing a direct link through to your website.

Skyscrapers cost £14 per thousand ad impressions (CPM) across the site (reach) or £15 if targeted .
