Edwards named the ICC player of the year

CRICKET: Former Ramsey Town cricketer Charlotte Edwards was named as international women's player of the year by the ICC this week after skippering England to wins over South Africa and India this summer.
Edwards received her award at the annual International Cricket Council Awards ceremony in Dubai. Shivnarine Chanderpaul of the West Indies was male Test player of the year with Mahendra Singh Dhoni of India collecting the one-day prize.
