Barnack take the title with a week to spare

BRILLIANT Barnack clinched the Hunts Division One title and a return to Cambs League cricket with a seven wicket defeat of Alconbury.
Consistent bowling saw off Alconbury for just 103 before Adam Scotcher's unbeaten 32 saw Barnack home with ease. Captain Gary Scotcher has led his troops to the title with a week to spare.
Elsewhere in the division there were some powerful batting displays. Tom Milner hammered a quickfire unbeaten 84 to help Upwood to a six-wicket win over Orton Park, a result that eneblaed Huntingdon to move into second spot after Zain Hassan's 80-ball century sped them to a 10-wicket win over Sawtry.
And Dean's Andrew Johnson took full advantage of Burghley Park's failure to field more than seven players. He hammered 151 out of 333-6 as Dean won by the massive margin of 226 runs.
Barnack have also joined the mad scramble for promotion from Rutland Division Two. As many as four clubs could go up and Asim Butt's superb 148 in a big win over Yaxley has ensured Barnack might be one of them.
Market Deeping are certainties after they brushed aside Nassington by eight wickets at Outgang Road. Charlie Kearns bagged 4-12 as Nassington were shot out for 85.
Steve Seymour's 106 proved crucial for March in a 10-run win over Newborough although the villagers put on a spirited showing in pursuit of 252-7.
Andy Walker's agricultural 90 gave Newborough a dream start, but once Ross Harris had been dismissed for 94 their innings subsided quickly.
Bourne are also on the up from Division Two following a 36-run win in a low-scoring game at Stamford Town. Bourne slumped from 82-2 to 105 all out, but Charlie Hopkins (6-19) ensured it was still a big enough total on a tricky track.
Ufford Park threw away the chance of victory at Isham by losing their last seven wickets for just 17 runs. Ufford lost by 21 runs which was hard on Andy Hills who had battled his way to 60.
Peterborough Town seconds look sure to be crowned Division Six champions, although they've had plenty of help from the club's first team on the way.
David Clarke (54) and Chris Milner (53) did the bulk of the scoring against nearest rivals Uppingham seconds. Town's 212-6 proving 56 runs too good.
Market Deeping seconds enjoyeed a rare South Lincs Division One success, a win made all the sweeter as it arrived at local rivals Bourne.
Captain Nick Andrews (74) played the pivitol innings for Deeping in a 30-run win.
