COMPANY car driver is a light-hearted business feature where we ask a company car driver in the Peterborough area to answer a number of questions on topics of the moment. This week we feature Shaun Pluck, new car/fleet sales manager, at Marshall Peugeot.
Q. Do you think David Cameron would do a better job than Gordon Brown of dealing with the recession?

I don't think we've seen Gordon Brown stand up and deliver a powerful message that gives us all confidence in how we are going to come through this difficult period. When times are hard we need strong leadership and I feel that Gordon isn't that type of character. Saying that, I'm not too sure whether David Cameron is either! David certainly has a bit more personality in his make up, but "saying" and "doing" are two entirely different things.

Q. Do you feel that, with the fall in petrol/diesel prices, it is right that the Government should consider adding the 2p rise in fuel duty postponed from earlier this year?

Definitely not. That would be like kicking everybody when they're down! It is the high fuel costs which have been a major contributor to the credit crunch as it effects everything and everybody. Lets look at the falling fuel costs as a step in the right direction, something that we can start building confidence from.

Q. If there was a General Election now, who would get your vote?

With the fear of offending relatives, friends and employers, that's classified! Keep your nib out.

Q. What major item have you delayed buying because of the credit crunch?

My 50inch plasma and PS3!!! I'm holding out for Father Christmas to come up trumps, I've been a good boy this year.
