Ex-pats: Pub quiz to raise funds for Legion

PUT your thinking caps on to pit your wits against other teams at a quiz night being organised by the Peterborough branch of The Royal British Legion later this month.

The event on Monday January 30 will take place at the Blue Bell Inn in Werrington at 9pm.

Proceeds will go to the Branch Welfare Fund and the War Memorial Fund.

Social event for the Poppy Appeal

GRAB something to eat and test your knowledge at a buffet and quiz night organised by the Women’s Section of The Royal British Legion in Thorney on Monday.

The event will be held at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Thorney at 8pm.

Proceeds will go towards the RBL Poppy Appeal.

Members of the Women’s Section of the Royal British Legion in Peterborough are getting together for a section meeting on Thursday.

The event is taking place at the East Community Centre in Peterborough at 7pm.

Donations needed for war memorial

DONATIONS are wanted to pay for a tribute to those who have died for their country in the two World Wars.

The war memorial will eventually be unveiled in Bridge Street, Peterborough later this year.

Donations to the War Memorial Fund can be made by cheque made out to The Peterborough War Memorial Fund – RBL and sent to George Ware, 206 Eastern Avenue Peterborough PE1 4PX.
