Turbines given the go-ahead on farm

A DEEPINGS farmer has permission to build two wind turbines on his land.

Nicholas Watts, who runs Deeping Fen Farm was given the green-light by South Holland District Council’s planning committee last week.

Several objections were made by neighbours, Deeping St Nicholas Parish Council and a nearby caravan site.

But the planning committee went with the officers’ recommendation to give the farm permission.

The two 50kw turbines will be 39.6 metres tall.

It is estimated the two turbines will make a combined annual saving of between 70 and 80 tonnes of carbon.
