Winner: Sharne May Lightfoot. Runners-up: Corey Harvey and Rhys Bean and Jamie Ford.

The Young Achiever of the Year Award, sponsored by Cross Keys Homes

SHARNE was nominated by her father Sean for the tireless dedication she showed whilst caring for her terminally ill mother.

Sean said: “This young lady looked after her mother, who had cancer, for five years. She went through the highs and the lows, looking after her mum through it all.

Sadly her mother passed away on January 25 this year.

Sean added: “I would like to see this young lady get what she deserves, a thank you for caring for her mother.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Sharne said: “When I first found out about this I thought it couldn’t be me and it took ages for it to finally sink in. It was amazing to meet so many different people.”
