Overall Achiever Award winner: Ben Iredale, sponsored by Costa.

THIS award is given to one of the category winners who the sponsors felt went above and beyond the call of duty.

Andrew Swift, regional development manager from Costa, said: “I chose Ben to receive this award because he has supported the community in many different roles over a period of 27 years.

“To start any venture from scratch is a mammoth task but to sustain the drive and enthusiasm over such a long period of time takes true character.

“At the age of 79 years young and to still be cooking meals for those that need it most he is a worthy winner of the overall achiever award.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Ben said: “I was sat at the back of the room and as I walked to the front to collect my award everyone stood up and applauded me, which was lovely.

“It was a very emotional evening at times but I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
