Community Spirit Award, sponsored by Axiom Housing

ANGIE was nominated by Roger and Kath Dickings.

Kath said Angie goes above and beyond to help them and their neighbours.

She explained: “It started a few years ago after a stay in hospital. I was unsure what I needed to do and Angie came round to help me work out the help I was entitled to.”

Although Angie’s work with the couple is now complete, Kath says she keeps in touch.

“Angie still calls to see if there is anything she can do for us. She is like that with all the residents. She definitely goes above and beyond her role and is the best person I have met in a long time.

“My neighbours always have something nice to say about Angie, she has been marvellous to us.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Angie said: “It was a great night, especially meeting the other nominees and hearing what they had done.

“I hadn’t even got over the shock of being nominated, so when I won I was stunned. I don’t even remember walking up to the stage to collect my award.

“All I know is that I burst into tears as soon as I sat back down! It was very emotional and I would like to thank the people who nominated me and everyone who voted. I feel honoured.”
