National recognition for early years provider in Walton
DEDICATED staff members at a Peterborough early years provider have won national acclaim for its teamwork.
The Caverstede Early Years Centre, in Caverstede Road, Walton, has been honoured in an annual awards scheme run by Nursery World magazine.
The centre scooped the “School Early Years Team of the Year” award at the ceremony held at the four-star Lancaster, in London.
It was the second consecutive gong for the centre in the award scheme, after its was recognised for its work towards inclusion the previous year.
Marilyn James, head of the centre, said it was “fantastic” to win the award.
She said: “It gives you recognition. It means that our work and the staff’s work is recognised and it means you can use it to promote the work of the nursery.”
She added: “I feel as I always do here, really proud. I do feel enormous pride about Caverstede.”
Mrs James paid tribute to the staff in the centre’s continued success.
She said: “That award was about the staff. The staff are completely dedicated to putting the child at the centre of everything we do.”
