Gyms announce fun festivals for run-up to the Olympic Games

SPORTS fans from Ramsey and Sawtry have been invited to their local gyms to take part in a host of events to celebrate this summer’s Olympic Games.

The Delivering Activity and Sport (DASH) team at Huntingdonshire District Council has organised a series of Olympic festivals ahead of the London games.

They will involve sports clubs demonstrating what they can offer and provide people with the opportunity to try a range of sports.

One festival will be held from noon to 3pm on May 27 at One Leisure Ramsey, in Abbey Road, Ramsey, while another will be held from noon to 3pm on June 24 at One Leisure Sawtry, in Green End Road, Sawtry.

District councillor Tom Sanderson said: “The DASH project provides so many different opportunities for families to get involved with sport. It’s great to see sporting opportunities available at these Olympic events.”
