A NEW display has been set up at Whittlesey Museum to reveal the fascinating history of the Must Farm Bronze Age site.
Visitors can browse through interpretation panels which explain how archaeologists uncovered a range of items at the Whittlesey quarry site, including tree-carved boats, spears, swords, clothing, jewellery and bowls.
Researchers say the rare finds provide possibly the most detailed view yet of what life was like 3,000 years ago.
One of the log boats could even date back as far as 1,300BC – making it the oldest ever discovered.
Archaeologists were given access to the quarry ahead of an extension to the site by Hanson Brick, which owns the land.
Whittlesey Museum is on the ground floor of the town hall in Market Street, Whittlesey.
It is open on Fridays and Sundays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and on Saturdays from 10am to noon and is run by volunteers from the Whittlesey Society.
Anyone interested in volunteering and helping out at the museum should call curator Maureen Watson on 01733 840968.
