Deepings: Grand school concert in aid of charity

CHARITABLE pupils put on an fund-raising night in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Students from Brunel House at The Deepings School arranged a concert in aid of the organisation, inspired by Year 11 pupil Josh Hannen whose granddad suffers from the condition.
The event raised more than £1,000 for the charity.
Laura Driscoll, head of Brunel House and a drama teacher, said: “We would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to support the event and to everyone who has donated so far – it was an unforgettable night.”
The event was run in conjunction with Tesco, in Godsey Lane, which let the pupils bag pack to raise money in advance of the show.
The evening itself saw stunning solos from school pupils plus a set from the band Just Me Again.
The group has toured with the Wanted and other charting bands.
The evening was compered by Josh alongside Year 12 pupil Georgia Ross.
