Church solar panel plans are approved

PLANS to install a solar panel at Deepings Methodist Church have been approved by South Kesteven District Council.

The church, based in Church Street, Deeping St James, wants to install the four-kilowatt solar panel to increase its energy efficiency.

The council granted planning permission last Wednesday, on condition that the panel is installed within the next three years.

The application was put forward as the Central Office of the Methodist Church of Great Britain is encouraging its churches across the country to drive down their carbon footprints and the church said it has the support of its congregation.
