PUPILS have been cooking up tasty treats to raise money and provide food for the homeless in Peterborough.
Market Deeping Primary School’s Year 4 Panthers class raised £80 for the Peterborough Streets charity by selling culinary delights including cupcakes, biscuits and even homemade Chinese fortune cookies to their fellow pupils.
They sold the cupcakes at the school’s discos and after baking the fortune cookies as part of their topic about China they sold them to pupils every break time for a week.
The generous youngsters also brought in tins of food and toiletries to help make up two bumper hampers for the charity, based in Adderley, Bretton.
There were also donations from the school’s parent and teacher association.
