AS summer draws to a close, more than 100 parents and children took their last opportunity to visit the seaside.
The party piled on to two coaches at Hampton Court shops in Westwood, and set off to sunny Skegness, on the Lincolnshire coast, setting out at 9am.

The trip, on Friday, August 29, was organised by the Westwood and Ravensthorpe Children’s Centre, and two members of staff accompanied the group on the fun day out.

Development worker Emma Wightman said that everyone had been looking forward to getting out of the city and enjoying the beach and sea air.

She said: “Once we got to Skegness, the families could do what they liked for the day.

“Some headed for the beach while others went to the fairground.

“A few families also made it to the Sea Life Sanctuary.

“To judge from the feedback we received, everyone had a great time. It was a brilliant day out for adults and kids.”
