DELAYS on London Road and Oundle Road are set to continue causing more misery for motorists as council roadworks are set to overrun by another week.
A spokeswoman for the council confirmed that the temporary traffic lights at the junction will now continue in operation until Friday, 31 October.

It was originally estimated that installation of cabling and commissioning of new traffic lights to serve the "fourth arm" of the junction, would be completed in just four days.

However, a city council spokesman confirmed that this timeframe has had to be extended again as the works move into their second week.

What a farce. It would almost be comical, if it wasn't for the fact that these continued roadworks are putting people coming into Peterborough and our local businesses are suffering as a result. Don't forget that we have the closure of the A47 and Nene Parkway also to look forward to!
