DOZENS of families attended a family fun day with a deeper meaning.
From climbing walls, music, prizes and games, there was something for everyone to enjoy at the launch of a Safer Peterborough week of action in Fletton and Woodston.
But while the children were busy playing, adults were able to find out more about
the events taking place during the week of action and gain information and advice from a number of different agencies.
The event, at The Cherry Tree pub, in Oundle Road saw people seeking help and advice on issues including health and well-being, crime prevention and personal safety.
Peterborough City Council's weeks of action co-ordinator, Julie Rivett said: "The family fun event was an excellent way to kick off the Safer Peterborough week of action in Fletton and Woodston. We hope that residents will be motivated and energised to make a difference to the area they live in, for the benefit of the whole community."
More than 1,000 homes will be involved in the latest Safer Peterborough week of action, formerly known as Making a Difference, led by the council and city police.
The campaign was launched last year to start community action against crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental vandalism.
