CON artists have been operating at a number of addresses in the north of Peterborough over the last few days.
Two men, who both have short, dark hair, and are approximately 20 years old, are asking to look in householders' gardens to fetch their football.

While carrying out this ruse, they have been pilfering purses, bags and mobile phones.

Police Community Support Officer Dominic Vaughan said: "If you get callers of this nature, do not let them in, even if you think it is genuine.

"Tell them you will look for the ball, close the door behind you, and lock it while they wait outside.

"However, if you do feel that it is suspicious, close the door and lock it and call 0845 456 4564, and report it to us with as good a description as you can."
