FICKLE weather is the bane of any event organiser's life, but at Werrington Primary School, such worries will now become a thing of the past.
Now, come rain or shine, shelter will be provided at school gatherings, thanks to a kind donation from the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P).

Members of the Werrington Primary School Parent and Teachers Association (PTA) organise a host of events each year, such as the Werrington Carnival, and needed temporary shelters to cope with the sun and showers.

They approached their local building society for help, and Debbie Smith, customer advisor at N&P's Werrington branch in Skaters Way, offered to donate two gazebos for the school to use.

Secretary for the PTA Angela McShane said: "The new gazebos are brilliant. they are so big and will come in so useful, especially if we continue to have these summers of sunshine and showers.

"We are not always so lucky with events that we hold, so to be able to offer people plenty of shelter will hopefully ensure a good turn-out whatever it's like.

"Thanks very much to all at N&P for your support."

Miss Smith said: "I'm delighted that we have been able to help with something so practical for the school. There's nothing worse than planning an event, only to be beaten by the weather.

"Hopefully, it'll help keep everyone safe from the sun and keep them dry in the rain."
