WERRINGTON South councillor Darren Fower has been appointed the city council's representative on the Peterborough Racial Equality Council.
The registered charity works with individuals and organisations for a fair and just society, celebrating diversity and giving everyone an equal chance to work, learn and live free from discrimination and harassment.
Cllr Fower said: “Its important
to be involved and support those with similar outlooks on life. Peterborough has a proud and productive history, based around cultural diversity and it’s about time more recognition was given to this fact.
“I am looking forward to being involved in what I believe to be an already successful organisation and hope that I can bring something to the table.”
