YOBS who are using Werrington Parkway as a racetrack for their cars have made residents' lives "a nightmare".
A Werrington couple have spoken of sleepless nights due to the sounds of squealing tyres and roaring engines reverberating through their home in the early hours of the morning.
Patrick Cleathero warned police that someone is going to get killed if they can't put a stop to the drivers tearing up the parkway in the middle of the night and skidding into the Dukesmead estate where they live.

Mr Cleathero (58) said: "I have been ringing the police for months to get them to sort this out. My wife is sick with stress as we are not getting any sleep. The noise went on for more than three hours on Sunday night, it's become a nightmare."
The couple, who moved to Dukesmead for their retirement years, now find their peace and quiet shattered as yobs perform handbrake turns at the roundabout.
Werrington South Councillor Colin Burton went out to inspect the roundabout on Tuesday evening at the Brookfield Industrial Estate after he received a call from a distraught Mr Cleathero and urged police to take action.
He said: "The tarmac at the roundabout has been turned black from the burnt rubber from tyres caused by yobs skidding to a halt as they take the turn at top speeds.
"This is just along from a residential mobile home park, a busy footpath and a popular cycle path. The tyre marks go past where the footpath is and right into the site of the mobile home park and I worry that someone is going to be killed if they can't be caught."
The footpath is particularly popular with people returning from Werrington village at 11pm which is the peak times for the "boy racers" to be racing along the parkway.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers are aware of this problem and where we receive information about incidents of this nature, we do provide a presence, often in an unmarked police vehicle.
"Where offences are revealed, penalty notices and section 59 warnings for anti-social vehicle use are issued. If a driver receives more than one Section 59 warning their vehicle may be crushed."
Speeding remains a local policing priority after the last police panel meeting in September singled out speeding in Werrington Village from the A15 at Mancetter Square through to David's Lane.
