ONLINE business comparethemarket.com, the price comparison site, brought some light relief from the credit crunch to London's commuters when it displayed an open vault containing £16 million at Waterloo station in July.
Now the 3D illustration has been brought to Pegasus House, the HQ of parent company of The BGL Group, in Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, Peterborough.
The artwork, by world-renowned street artist Kurt Wenner, has been commissioned by comparethemarket.com to demonstrate how much money – all £16 million of it – it believes it has saved customers on their car insurance policies this year, simply by using the site and comparing to get the best deal.
Kurt Wenner is the artist who pioneered anamorphic or illusionistic street painting. His work has been seen on a global level, even having one piece in Italy signed by the Pope.
"With everyone feeling the strain of the credit crunch, we're delighted to have been able to save our customers money on their car and home insurance policies," said Mark Vile, spokesman for comparethe market.com
"We wanted to show people, quite literally, that there are easy ways to save money on car insurance – in fact almost everyone can save with comparethemarket.com
"We enable users to get a quote quickly and simply, and offer deals that are not available anywhere else."
