STAFF at construction firm Stamford Homes are celebrating after winning a national award.
The Peterborough-based firm has just achieved the gold standard in the Occupational Health and Safety Awards, set up by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The award recognises high levels of performance and well-developed health and safety management systems and demonstrates the high priority the company places on accident prevention.

Production director Glyn Pepper said: "This accolade is recognition of the importance Stamford Homes places on the safety and well-being of its employees.

RoSPA chief executive Tom Mullarkey said: "If every business in the UK could put in place the kind of safe and healthy working that this year's award winners have created, very many tragedies would be avoided and lives saved – not to mention the massive cost reductions which could be achieved."
