A FORMER board member of the city's largest housing association will use his experience to put his best foot forward in his new role.
Peterborough City Council’s new cabinet member for housing, regeneration and economic development, Councillor Graham Murphy first joined Cross Keys Homes’ board in 2002 as a shadow board member prior to its actual start in 2004 where he then became the council nominee, and has seen Cross Keys Homes go from strength to strength.
In this new role Cllr Murphy will continue to have a close relationship with Cross Keys Homes and other housing associations in the city.
Cllr Murphy said: “I have really enjoyed being a Cross Keys Homes’ board member and seeing the many improvements the organisation has delivered to tenants.
“I look forward to continuing working with Cross Keys Homes in my new role and together I am confident we can continue to provide further affordable and quality homes.”
Cross Keys Homes’ chief executive Mick Leggett said: “Having strong council support is very important and I look forward to working with Cllr Murphy in his new role to deliver the city’s affordable housing and regeneration targets.”
Meanwhile, Trevor Rogers and Wendy Jackson, both from Peterborough, have recently been appointed to the board of Peterborough based Minster Housing Association (part of The Hyde Group).
Born in East Anglia and a Peterborough resident for more than 20 years, Trevor is a qualified actuary and experienced finance professional. Most recently he has been working for the UK Government and a large foreign bank.
Trevor brings a wealth of professional knowledge and experience to his role on the Minster Board and his interest in local housing issues makes him well placed to participate actively in his added roles as board member and non-executive director for the organisation.
Wendy is a Minster leasehold resident who has taken a role on the board following involvement in a number of resident forums and discussion groups, most recently contributing to the Minster best value plan.
Jamie Biggadike has been appointed local business manager for Barclays in Wisbech and March.
Jamie is part of the Fenland Local Business Team who aim to champion small and medium-sized companies by providing extensive localised knowledge and award-winning services to help people start up and grow a business.
He said: “I have recently joined Barclays Local Business from O2 where I gained a lot of experience in retail management.
“I am really looking forward to meeting local business people in my new role and supporting them to achieve their ambitions and dreams.”
Jamie was born in Lincolnshire but now lives in Cambridgeshire.
