Logistics team scoop two national awards

The logistics team at Indesit Company in Peterborough have scooped not just one, but two, top logistics industry awards for customer care and network improvements at the annual Motor Transport Awards in London – a key event in the logistics industry calendar.
The company secured the following awards for its home delivery network, which provides home delivery services on behalf of retail partners:

n Customer Care Award, for demonstrating consistent excellence in customer service above and beyond expectations. Judges said: “Indesit understands what its customers see as important, with impressive KPIs on service delivery and damage – supported by excellent testimonials.”

n Network of the Year Award for demonstrating excellence through an efficient national distribution network. The team “targeted and achieved specific areas for improvement,” and provided “a high level of service in a notoriously demanding sector.”

Logistics managing director Dominic Vertuccio said: “I am delighted that we have received such prestigious awards. As an in-house logistics function, to compete against some of the best-known logistics operations in the UK and win, really is a fantastic achievement. This industry-wide recognition reinforces my belief that the continued hard work and commitment of our team to develop our operations, has resulted in home delivery network which successfully combines efficiency with excellent customer care.”

The logistics team beat off fierce competition from some of the leading names in the logistics industry to secure the awards.
