A group of businesswomen from Peterborough have organised an event to help working women who are considering a change in career or are simply in need of a boost in self-confidence.
Personal Development: How to make your dreams come true, to be held at the Haycock Hotel, Wansford, Peterborough, on November 12, will cover topics ranging from how to become more confident within a business environment through to the benefits of enl
isting a mentor to share valuable advice and knowledge.
The series of short presentations, which will all be given by successful, local busineswomen, has been organised by the Business Women’s sector of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.
Chairwoman of the Chambers’ Business Women’s sector Anne Hitch said: “When I was getting back into work I wish I’d had the opportunity to take advantage of the kind of support and guidance this event will provide.
“It is only when you are in one of these situations that you realise how invaluable such assistance is.
“If you are a female working in an all-male environment, wouldn’t it be useful to discuss business elements with another female? Or maybe you are relatively new within your company and would find it useful to learn from someone who has been in your shoes.
“Over the course of a lunchtime, this event will give women a better understanding of what mentoring and coaching are, including the differences between the two, and will explain exactly how both can help women succeed in business.
“We’ll also be demonstrating the use of business coaching and life coaching to help you achieve your goals, and one of our speakers will even be offering tips on how attendees can have that feel good factor.”
This event, from noon to 2pm, is sponsored by Total Coaching Solutions and Business Link East.
