CHRISTMAS may be far from our thoughts as we hope for a sizzling summer, but at Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P) staff are already making plans for a very special festive event.
The society is linking up with East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) to stage Peterborough's first ever Santa Run.

The 2km run will be held at Ferry Meadows Country Park on Sunday, December 7, and anyone from tots to pensioners can join in
the fun. Those who register to take part will receive a Santa suit to wear as they tackle the course.

N&P's senior marketing manager Kerry Morley, who is co-organising the event, said: "It is going to be a real spectacle.

Imagine the scene as lots of Santas walk, jog or run around the route at Ferry Meadows.

"We think it is a great way to raise money for such a deserving cause, and we hope that lots of people in Peterborough will agree, and join us for a fun Sun- day morning out."

EACH supports families with children who have life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses and has hospices at Milton in Cambridge, Quidenham in Norfolk and Ipswich in Suffolk.

N&P adopted EACH as its staff charity in May 2007, and has so far raised almost £60,000 for the cause.

Anyone who wants to sign up for the Santa Run should call Sally Cassels on 01223 205194 or e-mail sally.cassels@each.org.uk
