Forum urges a 10p tax rethink

A BUSINESS group is today urging the Government to rethink plans to force employers to pay for the loss of the 10p rate of income tax by increasing the National Minimum Wage.
Officials of the Forum of Private Business claim the move would force smaller businesses to put up prices which could lead to job losses.

A forum spokesman said: “I don’t see why the burden should fall on the employer. It would make things extremely difficult for business.”
