CONSTRUCTION employers in the east of England are missing out on the top talent of the future, it has been claimed.
About 1,000 of the UK's brightest young people looking to take a construction degree have applied to the ConstructionSkills Inspire Scholarship Scheme.

And 91 of these are from the east of England – yet just 23 potential local employers have signed up from the region.

But Inspire aims to match the employer with a shortlist of young people looking for support.

Companies are able to select a student and test them out with a 10-week placement after the first year of their degree course.

It means that at the end of their degree, the young person is familiar with a company and, if offered a job, is work-ready and committed to that firm.

To register interest in the scheme, or to receive further details call education and careers adviser Sarah Lambert on 01509 282885 or e-mail scholarship@cskills.org
