A FORMER Posh star is kicking off a business career after buying into a courier franchise.
One-time Peterborough United striker Jackie Gallagher has just purchased the rights to run the March and Chatteris area for the Fastway Couriers franchise.

He said: "When I heard about Fastway I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.

"I was worried about my lack of business knowledge and experience but knew I had the personality and drive to run my own business.

"I have been given so much support and training by my regional franchise co-ordinator and I look forward to building my business in the next few months. I also enjoy being out and about on a daily basis and talking with my customers."

A Fastway spokesman said: "Many people are put off from starting their own business due to the fact that 90 per cent of businesses fail in their first year.

"In comparison, franchising allows you to own and run your own business with the support of a proven system and the backing of a well-known brand.

"This removes much of the risk but still allows you the freedom to be your own boss and reap the rewards of your hard work."
