ADAM Smith of George Farmer School in Holbeach finished fifth in the discus at the UK School Games at Bath.
The versatile youngster, a member of Peterborough Athletic Club, was just shy of his personal best with a first round throw of 42.60m.

And now he has set his sights on making the England team for the British Schools Multi-Events International in Glasgow.

Last year he was a spectator when close friend and clubmate Sean Band competed in the international and he is now hoping to emulate his achievements.

He said: "I need to finish in the top four at the English Schools Multi-Events later this month and I'll be delighted if I can make the England team.

"I've achieved everything else I wanted to do this year, and competing at the UK School Games was my number one target.

"I also had smaller targets relating to my endurance, power and speed and I've achieved all of them."
