WITH five weeks to go to the Great Eastern Run, entries for the half-marathon have almost reached the 2,000 mark.
The event will be the sixth of seven in the inaugural East Road Race Series and current leader Andrew Hennessy, the Wells City Harrier based in Norfolk is one of the leading entrants for the big city race.

Hennessy is looking to run around 68 minutes next month while Bedford's British international Jo Wilkinson, who finished second in last year's Great Eastern Run, is returning and hoping to run around 73 minutes.

Cambs Road League champion Nick Grimer of Nene Valley Harriers is currently the best-placed local in the East Road Race Series in joint 10th position while Davina Lowe of Hunts Athletic Club is equal 13th in the women's lists.

March Athletic Club are joint third in the team competition while Ramsey Road Runners and BRJ are equal ninth. The Norwich Half-marathon will be the final event on November 30.
