Mohans break more records

THERE can't be too many families where four members have set a club record in the same year, but that's exactly what the Mohans from Bourne have done.
Jackie, sons Robert and Adam, plus daughter Jenna have all set Nene Valley Harriers club records this year.
Three more fell on Monday when the city's premier athletics meeting – the Peterborough City Games – took place at the Embankment Track.
Adam broke brother Robert's Under 15 record in the shot, breaking 14 metres for the first time with 14.01m.
Jenna broke her own Under 13 girls discus mark with 20.91 and recorded a second win in the javelin where she beat Emma Wells into second and also broke her week-old club record.
A fourth Nene Valley record fell in the Under 13 girls 70m hurdles where Emma Hornsby recorded a narrow win and broke her own club record.
One perhaps surprising winner was Dan Tinkler of host club Peterborough Athletic Club.
He underwent a second operation on his ankle little more than two months ago and was expected to miss the rest of the season but he returned to defeat brother Martin in the Under 20 men's shot to win with 15.19m.
Martin gained revenge in the discus and also won the javelin.
Jake Berney, who tops the UK Under 13 boys rankings for both 100m and 200m this year, predictably won both sprints and there was also some good sprinting in the Under 15 boys age group.
Joel Grenfell, who also won the long jump, beat Ashley Watson into second in both the 100m and 200m while Hunts Athletic Club's Jordan Gillbanks – third behind the pair in the 200m – won the 400m.
Jordan Holland and Michael Franklin showed good speed for PAC in the Under 17 men's age group while Jack Jones won the long jump and Adam Smith the discus.
Michelle Tweed, who broke the minute for the first time in the 400m this year, predictably won that event for Nene Valley while Andrea Jenkins took the hammer.
PAC's Emily Moss made it three local winners in that age group when taking the one-lap hurdles.
Nene Valley's Charlotte Hinch (below) won the Under 17 women's 1500m in a shade outside five minutes while clubmate Stephanie Burton continued her impressive year by winning the Under 13 girls race over the same distance.
Nene Valley were also impressive in the Under 20 men's 1500m where they provided the first four home.
Club captain Adam Binns took victory and Josh Reed improved his personal best in second.
Stamford High School pupil Gaby Bangay recorded two Under 15 girls wins, in the 75m hurdles and pole vault, while PAC's Under 13 girls sprinters were again in form.
Megan Edwards won both the 100m and 200m with Renee Earl Jarrett taking second in the latter.
Councillor Matthew Dalton also showed fine speed with a 100m, 200m, 110m hurdles treble for the host club.
