PETERBOROUGH Athletic Club retained their East Anglian League overall title with victory in their final match at the Embankment Track.
They won a hard-fought match with city rivals Nene Valley Harriers, leaving team manager Dave Bays to say: "The quality of our athletes amazes me every time they compete.
"It is a fantastic achievement to win the overall league two years running.
It has been a team effort right through the year and I can not thank them enough for their commitment. Nene Valley fought us all the way and both clubs are a credit to Peterborough."
Under 13 girls Megan Edwards and Renee Earl Jarrett dominated the sprints for PAC before pairing up to clinch the long jump.Tabitha Eve, in only her second match, won the high jump in the same age group.
The Under 15 girls saw a clean sweep in the 800m and 1500m – thanks to Georgie Freeman, Laura Arnold, Amy Haines-Eynon and Georgia Woods – while Annie Holland gained two wins (high jump and discus).
Woods and Freeman produced an A and B-string double in the javelin while in the combined Under 17/Under 20/senior women's age group, Leah Parsons was kept busy wth three victories.
The Under 13 boys were led by a fit-again Jake Berney – the UK number one in his age group for both 100m and 200m – along with James Chatham as they dominated the sprints.
Michael Holland made it three wins out of three in the field while newcomer Daniel Hauck threw 32 metres to win the javelin.
In the Under 15 boys age group, Vinnie Hart recorded a double in the 400m and 800m while Tristan Smith and Tom Holyoake took the respective B-strings. Joel Grenfell, back from holiday, won the 100m and long jump.
In the Under 17 men's age group Jack Jones won two of his three events while Jordan Holland and Ross McConnachie both recorded sprint doubles.
Even the senior men turned out in force with A-string wins for Paul Hayman (3000m), Jamie Irons (high jump) and Martin Tinkler as well as the 4x100m quartet.
Three Nene Valley club records fell with brother and sister Harry and Emma Wells getting in on the act. Harry, who just missed out on a medal at last month's English Schools, added four metres to his Under 15 hammer record with 48.78m and also recorded an impressive high jump win.
Sister Emma broke the 18 year-old Under 13 girls javelin record that had stood to Elvira Cornetta. She added almost five metres to the record with a throw of 18.26m as well as recording two other wins.
The other record to go was in the senior women's 200m where Michelle Tweed's 26.4 took two tenths of a second off the time Stephanie Law set way back in 1994. Tweed has already twice broken the 400m club record this year.
