LAST weekend saw the Tydd Gote Summer League draw to a close with the club anglers fishing the Black Dyke section which produced some very good weights considering the poor fishing conditions.
The club made a bold move starting and finishing the matches much later than the normal traditional times and it has paid off.
The series has been a great success and will draw even more anglers next season I am sure.

ff the series with a fine match win to clinch the title. He fished the pole with maggot taking a net of skimmers and roach for 11lb 10oz. Ray Groom came second on 7lb 3oz followed by Sammy McSpadden with 6lb 6oz.

Next Sunday will be the start of the Winter League with the draw at noon at Main Road.

DEEPING St James AC members fished the first match in the clubs Wade Cup series on Haddon Lake at the weekend.
Drawing the favoured peg nine, club match secretary Ray Gregory chalked up his first win of the season weighing in four carp for 19lb 12oz which gave him a massive 15lb advantage in this three-match aggregate weight series.
Peter Hodson took second place with a 4lb 12oz catch of skimmers, just two ounces ahead of Russell Hole with 4lb 10oz.
