THE outstanding individual performance in the Cannon Rushden League came in Division Four where Ian Gardiner collected all but one of Rushden Athletic’s goals in their 6-3 win over Dun Cow Reserves.
Matthew Hewitt bagged the sixth goal for the victors with Mark Leaman, Eugene Parbury and Chris Harewood adding some respectability to the scoreline for Dun Cow.
Dunhill continued their good form with an impressive 7-3 success over Higham Reserves w
ith Adam Gaggini (3), Steve Walton (2), Jez Armitage and Simon Taylor outgunning Matthew Elkins (2) and Philip Munday.
Finedon Volta hit top form with a 6-2 win at Colworth Reserves. Matt Carr and Pete Neagle provided scant consolation to the efforts of Neil Piggott (2), Neil Millar, Dion Allen, Adrian Mole and Mark McNamara.
A Dave McKellar double and singles from Chris Barrit and Alan Reed helped Kettering Parkway overcome Woolcomber Reserves 4-3. Andy Fielding, Craig Martin and Alan Hancock countered.
In Division One Ventura Vikings thrashed Odyssey 5-1 with Wayne Gillan’s lone response eclipsed by Vallance Wilkinson, Phil Wade, Paul Chisholm, Grant Mawby and Paul Spencer.
Woolies Old Boys downed high-flying Earls Barton 4-3 in Division Three thanks to Craig Tindle’s hat-trick and Toby Clarke. Joe Beard (2) and Paul Smith replied.
Improving Tollbar notched a 4-0 verdict over Saxon Reserves thanks to Danny Nunley, Andrew March, Brett Horgan and Mark Stockman.
Railway suffered the early loss of Adam Young with a broken leg before losing 2-1 to Dun Cow. An own-goal and a David Hawkins strike shaded a Dan Douglas reply.
The Charles Wells Senior Cup saw favourites Valleybrook cruise past arch-rivals Victoria Millers 4-0 courtesy of a Scott Atkinson treble and Matt Freeman.
Wellingborough Works cleared the first hurdle with a 5-1 triumph against Woolcomber. Stuart Richards and Jason Ivory bagged two each while Floyd Gent rounded things off.
Mercenaries beat Saxon 5-3 thanks to Chris Mills (2), Calvin Farrar, Lee Heaton and an own-goal.
The tightest contest was between Division Two leaders Sargents and Irthlingborough Cons from the section above – the latter going through 4-2 after extra- time as Richard Darnell, Eugene Emanuel, Sam Duxbury and Steve Graham outscored Lee Butler and Martin Cain.
o In the NFA Sunday Vase Exiles came from behind to win 4-3 at Abington Rangers with Scott Carter and Ian Walker each scoring twice.
Irthlingborough Cons Reserves hammered Marketeers 8-1 – Gary Hobson (3), Lee Neville, Dion Plosky (both 2) and Wayne Moore on target – while Isham Lilacs clipped Queens Park WMC 3-0.
